Innate Trigger – Then we will vanish again
Major Alexey Lobov watched the technicians as they examined the disassembled parts of the Mecha-Scout. The rain softly tapped on the metal ceiling, while the Mecha’s body remained still, in a state of stasis. The silence was deafening.
“They let it fall,” he thought.
The Mecha was bait. He knew they always responded, but this time it was different. A suspicion ran through him. Was the Mecha transmitting something? Were they watching them?
“That’s why I ordered a full lockdown. No comms. No data uplinks. We’re going dark until Engineering strips every inch of its core.”
“If it’s too late, then we vanish again,”
he thought, his heart tightening in anxiety as his gaze met the faintly glowing eyes of the Mecha-Scout.
