In the heart of Megacity 1 at West Asia Grid, the Resistance had made a daring strike, taking down the Mecha-Scout in a first ever success against the overlords’ autonomous units. Major Alexey Lobov, with his exoskeleton and tactical brilliance, had led the operation to a thrilling victory. But something had felt off. The Mecha had been too easy to defeat, its systems too vulnerable. Lobov suspected it had been a trap, a carefully orchestrated bait. His fears were realized when, in the aftermath, technicians discovered the Mecha’s true purpose: it had been transmitting vital intel back to the overlords before its destruction. Despite their success, the Resistance had been exposed. A storm was coming. The following night, without warning, the skies over Megacity 1 darkened with the sound of distant engines. A massive bomber appeared on the horizon, its payload carrying two high penetration explosives.
Without hesitation, it released them, sending shockwaves that rocked the earth below. The Resistance’s underground command center, its heart, was shattered. Hundreds of fighters, engineers, and civilians perished as the bombs tore through the sublevels, setting off a fiery explosion that consumed the entire complex. The very foundations of the Resistance crumbled under the force, while data and energy systems were obliterated in the wake of the blast. Amidst the ruins, Major Lobov used his exoskeleton to keep the falling debris at bay, his mind racing. As he dug through the wreckage to find survivors, he discovered Mikaela, bruised, battered, and unconscious. Holding her tightly, he made his way to the surface, searching for a safe place to revive her. The overlords knew the resistance’s location at Megacity 1 in the West Asia Grid. And across every grid, in every megacity, the resistance would be forced to adapt as the war for humanity’s freedom entered its darkest hour.
