Innate Trigger – Low life and high tech (The implant junkies)

In the dystopian world of the Grid Mega-City Continents, the oppressive administration had completely forbidden drugs and alcohol.  But the need for such substances was still strong, and so the people turned to a new form of addiction, implant chips that simulated the feeling of drug and alcohol use.
The implant junkies, as they were called, were willing to trade anything they had in order to get their hands on the implant chips. In this no-money social system, they bartered with whatever they had from clothes to food and even their own body parts.
Some of the implant junkies were even willing to fight in death-matches in order to get their hands on the coveted implant chips it was a dangerous world where anything could happen, but the need for the chips was too strong to ignore.
The rulers of the Grid Mega-City Continents were aware of the implant chips trade, but they turned a blind eye to it.
It was a useful tool for investigations and monitoring, and they were content to let the trade continue.
But the revolutionaries saw the danger in the implant chips and fought against their makers and sellers, believing that the population needed to be healthy and free from addiction in order to fight for their freedom.
In the end, it was a battle between addiction and freedom, with the implant junkies caught in the middle.
The fate of the Grid Mega-City Continents hung in the balance, and it is  up to the people to decide their own future.
