Innate Trigger – Bugshot

The Overlords, even before the imposition of the Grid Prison State mega-city continents, had already gathered the technology they needed. Their goal was
to use it to monitor the population and enforce suppression wherever necessary. However, they had not accounted for the massive uprisings in every megacity,
which were organized in the form of armed resistance. More and more frequently, these resistance groups managed to strike at the infrastructure and military
forces of the Overlords. In an effort to limit the resistance’s actions, the Overlords continuously equip their army with increasingly advanced surveillance and interception devices drones, androids, mecha scouts, weaponry, and ammunition.

Following this strategy, the Overlord army’s snipers have been armed with Bugshot rounds. These are specialized ammunition containing nanobots designed to act as tracking beacons inside the target’s body. These rounds are used when the Overlord forces wish to monitor specific individuals, gathering intelligence on the armed resistance. This tactic has led to the elimination of several resistance strongholds, and until now, the resistance has not discovered how this was happening. They had no way of knowing about the Bugshot rounds, and so, when an injured resistance fighter was treated after being shot by an Overlord sniper, they were unaware that nanobots within the bullet were transmitting geolocation data.

But that is about to change.
