Massive destructions are a tactic that the rulers use in order to clear large areas of the megacities within each Grid, to eliminate resistance groups and simultaneously instill fear in those who think of joining the resistance. When they choose to almost completely destroy areas, they inform their agents and the population recorded as friendly to the rulers’ regime at least a day in advance through special communication channels, so that useful individuals to the regime are not killed. The resistance has sometimes managed to intercept this information and abandon those spots within the megacities, rendering the regime’s massive destruction strikes ineffective. However, there are times when the resistance is not informed, and thus mourns many of its members as well as the civilian population who are essentially executed by the regime’s army.
